About Us

Public Utility District #1
of Skamania County, Washington

"Skamania" is the Chinook Indian word for "swift water." Skamania County is rich with magnificent scenery: thick forests, the Cascade Mountains including the volcanic peaks of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams, numerous beautiful waterfalls, and swift rivers including the mighty Columbia River.

The Skamania PUD is a customer-owned utility providing electric service in Skamania County. We also have two water systems serving customers in Carson and Underwood, Washington. Public Utility District #l of Skamania County is a municipal corporation formed in 1938 under the laws of the state of Washington.
