Altered Services

As an electric utility, we’re responsible for delivering electricity to your home or business and in most cases, up to the electric meter. However, over time as customer equipment ages (i.e. panel, meter base, mast, etc.), services might have to be temporarily disconnected so it can be replaced.

A licensed electrical contractor can replace the customer-owned equipment with the proper permitting and a temporary disconnect request from Skamania PUD.

This form is to be used to request a disconnect for, but not limited to, the following scenarios (any new electrical or relocation of service must go through the service request/work order process):

Panel Change (like for like only, if increasing amperage must do a service request)

Licensed Electrical Contractors: All electrical contractors must have an active Electrical Contractor License from the Washington Department of Labor & Industries in order to request a reconnect of service prior to electrical inspection. Skamania PUD will re-energize service during regular business hours (to be determined by Customer Rep based on location of job) unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time. Any re-energizing of service outside of regular business hours will result in overtime fees.

Homeowners: If the electrical permit is in the homeowner’s name, regardless of who performed the work, the PUD will only re-energize the service once the electrical inspection has been approved by Labor &Industries. It is the customer's responsibility to coordinate the electrical inspection so the time the customer is out of power is at a minimum. Skamania PUD will re-energize service during regular business hours (to be determined by Customer Rep based on location of job) unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time. Any re-energizing of service outside of regular business hours will result in overtime fees.

It is the responsibility of the customer or electrician to notify Skamania PUD when the electrical inspection has passed by either email info@skamaniapud.com or calling the office (509) 427-5126.

*Note that any work done on external side of house may result in a field check prior to start of work.
