All new water mains must connect to an existing public water main. This can be accomplished by cutting and connecting to the existing main using an appropriate fitting, by tapping an existing main, or by removing a cap or plug on an existing main and connecting to the end of the main. Connection to an existing main may be done only after disinfection, testing, and approval by PUD staff of the new main.
