State law requires that the customer call the underground utilities locating service at least 2 full business days (48 hours) before trenching or excavating to install new underground electric service. Customers can call the “Call Before You Dig” number, 811 which notifies all affected utilities in that area. The customer is responsible for marking in white paint the proposed excavation route prior to calling in for locates. See the table below for color code markings of each utility.
- Underground electric distribution and service lines owned and maintained by Skamania PUD will be located, this service is free of charge.
- The customer is responsible for facilitating locates of customer-owned underground electric lines installed behind the meter.
