Give the Gift of Light this Year

The season of giving is here. Help bring some cheer and warmth to a friend, neighbor, or senior by making a payment toward their utility bill. Skamania PUD gift certificates are available, now. Call or visit the office to arrange a purchase.

Operation Warm Heart

Skamania PUD sponsors and supports Operation Warm Heart, administered by WAGAP. This program provides emergency dollars to customers in need on a short-term basis. All funds are provided by customer donations. Last year our community members kindly contributed $6,023.18, providing relief to 52 Skamania County households. Please consider a 1-time or recurring contribution to Operation Warm Heart. This can be done by registering on SmartHub or calling the PUD. If you wish to apply for the program benefits, please contact the PUD or WAGAP.

Reminder to Check Your Hot Water Heater Setting

Pursuant to Chapter 19.27A.060 RCW, it is recommended that water heaters be set no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent severe burns and to reduce excessive energy consumption. If the minimum setting on a water heater is greater than 120 degrees Fahrenheit, it is recommended to set the water heater at the minimum setting.

Customers who are dependent on power for life support and other medical equipment should have a backup plan for power outages.

It's critical that customers using special medical equipment at home, such as respirators, consider purchasing a backup generator or have a battery backup in place. While the PUD strives to provide continuous electric service to customers, it cannot guarantee that occasional power outages or failures won't occur.
